When should you send your Media Kit?

Now is the time

Your top social accounts are synced to your Beacons Media Kit, so they’re always updating with your latest data! It’s time to share your Media Kit with your dream brands and pitch yourself as a marketing partner.

What time of day should you send your Media Kit?

Create a schedule that works for you

You can send an email whenever you’re up for it! We recommend setting aside 2-5 hours a week to brainstorm brands you want to work with, find their best contact, send your pitch email with your Media Kit, and follow up!

You are not being annoying by following up

You are not being annoying by following up when you don’t hear back. Feel free to send a professional email (read on to find the template below) every week to the brand until you get a response or feel like moving on.

When is the best time to send email outreach to make sure your Media Kit is viewed?

The best time to send email outreach is Tuesdays and Wednesdays mid-day to evening. This is when people are checking their email and most likely to respond.

Where Should You Send Your Media Kit?

Defining the unique value that your content provides is a key component when working with brands. The best partnerships have alignment between the brand’s values and the creator’s audience—identifying which brands align with your authentic voice will help you determine which brands you would work with.

Once you know the brands you want to work with, you’ll need to finding right contact at that brand. This might require a little digging, but we’ve laid out a step-by-step plan below so you can be sure you’re maximizing your efforts to secure your partnership.

Visit the brand’s website

Visit the website of the brand you want to work with and see if there are any links to partnerships - about 50% of brands have this as an option. From there, follow the site instructions. Always include a link to your Media Kit when you’re able to!

For the other 50% of brands, check out the CONTACT US button that usually lives at the bottom of their website. Follow the site instructions here - if their email is provided, fill out the contact form AND send an email, both including the link to your Media Kit.

Search the brand on LinkedIn

Search the brand along with certain keywords that may lead you to the right contact (Example Key Words: Influencer Partnerships, Marketing, Sponsorships). If you’re able to find a contact, reach out to them via LinkedIn messages or try putting their name into the company email format and sending an email there.

Share with third-party marketing agencies

Have you done a partnership through a marketing agency in the past? Reach back out to that contact and share your Media Kit, explaining that you are open and excited to work with them again if there are any brands that align with your content.

Example agencies:

Connect with other creator friends

Connect with any friends that have worked with brands you are excited about. If they are able to share a good point of contact, send your Media Kit to them expressing interest in working together.

How to Conduct Media Kit Outreach

How do you send your media kit?

By email

Use the below email template to send your Media Kit to each brand. You can personalize this to highlight a specific post that did well or feature past content that is similar to the brand you are emailing.

On the brand’s website

Oftentimes, brands have a contact page on their website. This can look like a contact form or partnership application. You can still send the same email template that you would send over email. Look for the “Contact Us” button usually found at the bottom of a brand’s website - this will point you in the right direction!

To the brand’s social account direct messages

This doesn't always lead to a response, but sometimes brands are more active on their social accounts than they are on their managed email inboxes. Feel free to send the same email template to the brand’s Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter direct messages.

Via LinkedIn messages

Search the brand along with certain keywords that may lead you to the right contact (Example Key Words: Influencer Partnerships, Marketing, Sponsorships). If you’re able to find a contact, reach out to them via LinkedIn messages with the same email template.

Outreach Email Templates

When you’re ready to send your outreach emails, you can create an email from scratch by following best practices for how to write a cold pitch email—or simply start with our templates below.
