To set the context, could you share more about your story?
I'm Danielle, a registered dietitian since 2018. I grew up on a variety of diets due to my high cholesterol and regardless of what I consumed my cholesterol kept increasing. I was always curious about the science behind what was happening & why I couldn't change it. I have wanted to be a dietitian for as long as I can remember, I never wanted to be a content creator. However after starting my business I was looking for ways to market and started posting on TikTok in February of 2020 and some of my videos started to take off. Before I knew it I had 100k followers by sharing my personal challenges and successes with nutrition as well as realistic nutrition tips. Some of my videos that have resonated with my followers are personal videos about my struggles with my relationship with food and mental health and people have stuck around :)
What was the hardest part of your journey?
I think the most challenging part has been trying to manage my time, I work part time in the hospital, see private clients three days per week, creating content, and trying to go live as a part of different TikTok creator programs I have been invited to!
What are you most proud of achieving?
Providing hope and help to those who need it & reminding them there is hope!
Who is a creator you look up to?
It's so hard to pick just one, but I think I would have to say Hank Green, I've been watching vlogbrothers since I was a preteen and have always appreciated the realness of his content (and John's) but he's also great at evolving with changing social media and doing it kindly and authentically.
